Acid-loving Plants

Ericaceous, or acid-loving, plants prefer acidic growing conditions. This page is for rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias, pieris, hydrangeas, heathers and blueberries, whether they’re in pots and containers or planted out in garden beds.

Ericaceous Feed is a specialist concentrated liquid feed for these plants. Dilute it at 5ml per 1 litre of water and apply it to moist compost or soil while plants are actively growing, never when they’re dormant. The Ericaceous Feed 1 Litre page has the full routine, including a separate note for camellias.

Ericaceous Mist, for suitable rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias and pieris, comes ready to spray with no mixing. Shake, then lightly mist the foliage without soaking it, avoiding strong direct sun. The 500ml Ericaceous Mist suits single container plants, and the 1 litre bottle covers larger displays.

Feeding trees and shrubs that aren’t acid-loving? You’ll find those in Trees & Shrubs.
